Hey lovebirds! Planning your big day? As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen it all and snapped it all. So, let’s dive into some simple top tips to help you make the most of your wedding photos and get those jaw-dropping images you’ve always dreamed of.

#1 - Have a Pre Wedding Session

Crazy as it is, on your wedding day you will probably spend more time with your photographer than you will your new Mr or Mrs.

With that in mind it's pretty essential you feel at ease with them. What better way to get to know your photographer than hanging out with them, it's also a great way to help you get comfortable in front of the camera. By the time the big day rocks around all the small talk will be out of the way and I'll be able to blend straight in with your tribe whilst capturing natural authentic shots from the get go!

#2 Schedule in time for your photos

This may sound obvious but it's so often overlooked.

• If a first look, or photos of you and your tribe in matching robes are must have shots then you need to make sure you factor that in to your schedule in the morning. Typically the last hour of morning prep goes at double speed, so it's always best to aim be in your outfit and wedding ready an hour before your ceremony or the time you need to leave to your ceremony
• If you dream of those glowy golden our portraits, take a look at what time the sunsets on your wedding and allow a short window in the hour ahead of sunset for those shots.

The same advice applies for more natural images, if you're after lots of candid images of you with your guests then make sure you allow time in your schedule to mingle with them.

#3 Communicate

Ahead of the big day take a moment and think about the memories you want to treasure forever. Picture those photos you’d love to frame or show off to your grandkids someday. If you’re stumped for ideas, check out your Pinterest board and see if you're more drawn to certain types of image.
