FAQ

What should I expect from a Family session?

My style is all about documenting your family authentically in all it's chaos.

My approach is relaxed, unobtrusive and fun, after the first few minutes once everyone has gotten used to the camera, I will provide some gentle guidance in terms of where the best lighting is and then I will capture your family interacting naturally.

Each session is different as I like to get to know your family and will adapt my guidance and prompts to get the best images to really capture the essence of your relationship and family dynammic.

Can we bring our dog along to our family shoot?

Please do!

I love dogs and having one myself I fully appreciate they are an important part of the family.

WHAT LOCATIONS DO YOU COVER?

I always suggest choosing a location where you enjoy spending family time, your happy place as a family. This can be anywhere from the beach, park, woodlands or even in the comfort of your own home. The beauty of this means your children can run free to their hearts content and aren't constrained to a formal studio setting, this in turn allows me to capture the spontaneous moments that will really showcase their quirks and character.

If you don't have a particular location in mind I have some personal favourites that i can recommend.

What if our kids don't behave

I am a mum myself so I have realistic expectations of attention spans.
I know how to engage with little ones of all ages to get the best out of them whilst making the session fun and enjoyable.

Rest assured I have never had to stop a session because the kids aren't co-operating..

How Many Photos do we receive?

All family shoots include a minimum of 20 high resolution edited photos provided in a private online gallery.

What should we wear?

Try to co-ordinate colour rather than match outfits. Neutral and muted tones look beautiful in any season and will also help your images look timeless.

Dress for the weather, if you are planning an autumn/winter session then embrace layers and textures. Accessories like chunky knit scarves / bobble hats will compliment your photographs.

Try to avoid large logos, neon colours and bold prints as this can distract from your images.

Lastly before choosing your footwear please think about your location. Open toe sandals in muddy woodlands or high heels at the beach are not a good idea!
