Olivia & Sam’s Beautiful, Joy-Filled Barn Drift Wedding

Olivia and Sam’s wedding at Barn Drift was one of those days that just feels like a privilege to be part of from start to finish.

It was relaxed, emotional, full of sunshine, and completely centred around the people they love most. The kind of wedding where nothing feels overproduced or forced, just genuine moments unfolding naturally all day long.

Olivia got ready at her granny’s house, which immediately set the tone for the day. There was champagne being poured, soup being served, and that lovely calm chaos that only happens when a home is full of people getting ready for something special. It also felt really meaningful for Olivia to be in a space so full of memories before heading off to get married.

It was absolutely scorching all morning. The kind of heat where everyone is slightly questioning their life choices but also secretly loving it. There were a few jokes about sausages being buried or maybe some Etsy witches being at work, but honestly it just felt like one of those days where something bigger was definitely looking down on them.

From there I headed over to Barn Drift in Norfolk, where the ceremony was set within the walled garden space. Barn Drift is such a versatile wedding venue and I love how every couple uses it slightly differently. Olivia and Sam kept things beautifully simple, with just two plinths and the most incredible flowers, letting the setting do most of the talking.

Olivia looked absolutely stunning in an elegant gown and carried the most beautiful peonies. Everything about her look felt timeless and effortless.

The ceremony was emotional from the very beginning, especially as Olivia’s older brother walked her down the aisle. Sam was visibly overwhelmed in the best way, completely brimming with emotion as he watched her walk towards him. You could just see how much he adored her.

After the ceremony, there were readings and personal speeches from Sam’s three brothers, followed by Olivia’s cousin singing, which was one of those moments where everything just goes still. You could have heard a pin drop. It was honestly stunning.

Confetti back down the aisle was so much fun, the energy coming out of the ceremony was just pure happiness, and it felt like such a celebration of everything they had brought together. Even more special was the fact that the confetti had been gathered from Sam’s mum’s garden in Australia over months and months. A small detail, but such a meaningful one.

Straight after the ceremony, we slipped away for some couple portraits. Olivia and Sam were a little apprehensive about this part of the day beforehand, which is completely normal, but they honestly had nothing to worry about. I always take a step back in moments like this and just let things unfold, giving gentle prompts like walking together or chatting about the morning. They were so naturally in tune with each other that it barely felt like anything was being directed at all.

It was just them, completely in their own little world.

Meanwhile, guests were soaking up the sunshine with Aperol spritz in hand, enjoying the grounds and that easy, unhurried atmosphere that Barn Drift does oh so well.

When Olivia and Sam were announced into the wedding breakfast, the energy in the room was unreal. Napkins swirling, cheering, whooping, all of it. You could just tell everyone was absolutely over the moon for them.

Then came the speeches, which were genuinely some of the most heartfelt and well written I have ever heard.

Olivia’s family and godfathers, gave a speech that was equal parts emotional, funny and deeply thoughtful. You could feel how much love had gone into every word.

Sam’s speech followed and honestly, it was incredible. A proper love story. He spoke about falling for Olivia back at school, the classic “he was in love at first sight and she had no idea who he was” kind of story, and hearing him reflect on those early moments felt like something out of a film. It was so personal, so full of heart and delivered incredibly!

Poor best man Andy had a tough act to follow, but he absolutely rose to it with a brilliant tribute to Sam that had everyone laughing in between the emotion.

As the evening light softened, we stepped out for golden hour portraits, including some really special moments of Olivia with her closest people. Those quiet little in-between photos that often end up meaning the most.

The first dance was a full moment in itself, and as soon as the couple invited everyone onto the dance floor, it completely erupted. Proper party energy from the very first song.

Olivia later changed into a beautiful two-piece for the evening, which suited the party vibe perfectly, and the rest of the night just felt like one big celebration of two people who are very, very loved.

Honestly, this Barn Drift wedding had everything. Emotion, sunshine, incredible speeches, beautiful details, and a dance floor that never really stopped.

A proper feel good day from beginning to end.
