High Ash Farm
High Ash Farm is a hidden gem just on the outskirts of Norwich. An absolute haven for nature and wildlife. There are several walking tracks open to the public, all of which are wide enough for the whole family to walk alongside each other.
A perfect location for photos with a variety of scenery including meadows, fields and wooded areas.
Dogs are allowed but strictly must be kept on leads .
The postcode for the car park is NR14 8QL. Entrance to the farm is then across the road, opposite the car park.
Salhouse Broad
Salhouse Broad is perfect for those little legs as it's not too big and has a variety of locations for you to explore.
This one really does tick all boxes as there is woodland, grassy areas, the broad itself and a small play area.
If you have older / more adventurous kids and want to make a day of your visit there is canoe / kayak hire available from April - October.
Car parking is available at a charge. Toilets are located at the car park.
Carys Meadow
This is a family favourite as it's close by for us. If you're looking for a short walk this place is perfect, although there is still plenty to entertain little ones.
The majority of the walk is open grassland with patches of wild flowers but there is also a little river trail and lots of trees to climb.
This is a popular local dog walking spot so dogs are very much welcome.
There is currently (June 2022) a fairy door trail which is a huge hit with my little one.
Small free car park on site.
Bacton Wood
Bacton Woods is beautiful all year round however it really is at it's best in autumn, the wide paths get covered with golden leaves and the colours make a stunning backdrop for family photos.
There are three circular walks to chose from to suit all ages and abilities. A great place for the whole family (dogs are welcome too)
It is possible to take a pushchair however be warned if there has been heavy rain it can get quite muddy so wellies are a must.
Free parking available and there are a few picnic
Norfolk Coast
happisburgh - sea palling - WINTERTON
Ok so the title of this one is a bit vague and that is all down to how spoilt we are for choice when it comes to our beautiful coastline here in Norfolk!
I have spent way too long agonising over which beach is my favourite and I have come to the conclusion that if you are looking for a nice walk or a peaceful beach day then Happisburgh is the winner. It is totally unspoilt and serene, not a chip shop or arcade in sight. There is car park and toilet block along with a cute play area not to mention the iconic (albeit over photographed) lighthouse.
When it comes to my favourite beach for photographs... Sea Palling or Winterton are my go to places. Both have sandy shores and vast dunes to add variety to your photos.
