Amy & George’s Twilight Wedding at Hautbois Hall – March 2025

After a few false starts and rearrangements, Amy and George finally got their special day in March 2025... and what a day it was!

They opted for a magical twilight ceremony at the stunning Hautbois Hall, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Super-organised Amy had every detail planned to perfection. She had even read my top tips blog and made sure her bridesmaids designated one spot for "clutter and crap" keeping the prep room beautifully tidy, something that makes a HUGE difference to your photos!

The day was an absolute dream, with an incredible team of talented boss lady suppliers making everything run seamlessly. Abby was on hair (a previous bride of mine, which made it extra special!), and it’s always a joy to work with her. Makeup was in the expert hands of By Lauren MUA, I've been lucky enough to work with Lauren a few times now and she really is incredible, Amy's make up looked just as perfect at the end of the night as when Lauren had just finished! I also got to work with the lovely ladies from Social Scenes for the first time, and they were so much fun. And last but not least the wonderful Cheryl, who coordinated everything with precision, ensuring the day flowed effortlessly.

The ' I Do's '

Amy and George have been in front of my camera many times before, along with their gorgeous kiddos, I’ve been honoured to capture so many of their milestones. This one, though, was undoubtedly the most special.

Amy looked stunning in a timeless lace gown from Camilla Brides,. She oozed elegance and class, while her bridesmaids stunned in a gorgeous shade of sage green. Before Amy walked down the aisle, the couple chose a reflective song in memory of loved ones who couldn’t be there, a truly touching moment that made the ceremony even more meaningful.

Their little boy absolutely nailed his role as ring bearer, one of the many emotional highlights of the day. A special poem read by mother of the groom (with some help from the little ones) had us all sobbing.

After their heartfelt vows and a just-married kiss, their friend Hayley serenaded guests with a beautiful performance, adding even more magic to the emotional ceremony.

A truckload of confetti

When Amy and I had our final planning call, she was unsure about whether to include a confetti moment. With a twilight wedding, making the most of natural light can be tricky, but we both agreed it was worth it, especially with the fabulous Cheryl on hand to help orchestrate it quickly and smoothly. And wow, am I glad we did! It was everything I love in a confetti shot, a truck load of paper confetti flying around and the perfect halfway kiss... creating some of my absolute favourite images of the day.

Cute Couple Portraits

Despite a drizzly start to the day, the rain cleared just in time for portraits, and I couldn’t have asked for a more adorable, head over heels in love couple to photograph. Amy and George were all smiles, giggles and full of love. An absolute joy in front of the camera, making my job so easy! I constantly preach about the benefit of having pre-wedding sessions and getting used to being in front of the camera, Amy and George’s couple portraits are a perfect example of the difference it makes, (the years of family sessions paid off) They were so comfortable and really able to lean in and embrace the moment, and that shines through in every shot.

Speeches

The speeches at Amy and George’s wedding were packed with emotion, laughter, and heartfelt words. Amy’s twin sister and maid of honour gave a beautiful speech that struck the perfect balance between touching and funny (the kind only a twin could give.) The best man Will brought the laughs with a few classic stories along with some playful banter! Amy’s dad had everyone smiling straight from the get go with a hilarious intro and continued with a lovely mix of sentiment and pride. George’s speech was super thoughtful and you could tell it came from the heart. It was such a kind surprise when he gave me a little shoutout too.

Tiny Dancers

Amy and George kept their first dance simple and sweet, swaying together in that just-married glow before inviting their little ones to join them. It was such a lovely, genuine moment that felt totally them, relaxed, joyful, and all about family. Once the kids hit the dance floor, it was on… they fully took over with some seriously impressive moves (breakdancing and all) and had the best time waving around their glow sticks like mini party pros. The cutest start to a night full of fun.
